Instructions
THE PREPARATION OF THE SOAKING SYRUP
Pour the water into a saucepan, add the sugar, mix until it has dissolved completely.
At this point, turn off the heat, add the rum and wait for the water to reach 50°C, the ideal temperature for soaking, after which immerse 1 or 2 babà.
Let them soak for about 1 minute, turning them several times.
In this time they will be delicately squeezed 1 or 2 times, with a firm but sweet hand: in this way you will soften and soak them well.
After the last dive, if you prefer, you can also not squeeze them anymore.
Drain them, with the help of a cooking spider, with a plate underneath and continue like this with everyone else. Gradually recover the excess water.
Your rum babas are ready to be served.

You can enjoy your natural babas, garnish them with cream and strawberries, or serve them with custard and black cherries!
